ANTIGONE
ANTIGONE is an ancient Greek play written by Sophocles, that follows the immediate fallout from the events of the earlier plays in his OEDIPUS REX trilogy. This reimagining by Director and Dramaturge Meaghan Salmon sets the play in the aftermath of the anti-war protests at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
What are you willing to sacrifice for your beliefs? This is the central question at the heart of Sophocles' ANTIGONE. What motivates you to speak out against injustice? Is it family? Faith? A sense of duty? Antigone is a young woman who is rising to the challenge of answering these questions for herself, and asking those around her to examine their own answers.
